Philanthropy
Here at Theta Xi, we serve as charitable stewards by hosting a mix of fun, thrilling, and community-driven activities to raise funds and awareness for two incredible causes: the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Habitat for Humanity. Our commitment to giving back to the community shines through our past and upcoming philanthropy events. From selling coffee and donuts to putting on a blockbuster Haunted House, we strive to get our college community involved in support of our chosen charities.
Miles for ms
Every year, our brothers come together by running sponsored miles to fundraise money for Multiple Sclerosis, an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system.
How It Works
Brothers will set a goal and keep track of the amount of miles they run in the month of march. During the month they will send the donation link to family or friends, and post on social media to get people to donate towards the cause, helping to end multiple sclerosis for good!
In Spring 2025 we ran a total of 1001 miles and raised over $2100 for Multiple Sclerosis, helping the MS Society’s mission of Accelerating MS research, Advocating for lower medication costs, and Strengthening connection within the community.
Philanthropy week
Each semester, we dedicate an entire week to hosting events like Coffee & Donuts, Dogs on the Lawn, Spikeout MS, Pickleball Tournaments and other community based functions. Through these events, we’ve raised funds for our philanthropy and created a lasting positive impact on Georgia Tech, Atlanta.
Haunted House Philanthropy Event: Fall 2024
Haunted House event
One of our favorite and most successful philanthropy events is the Haunted House, where we transform our home into a traditional Haunted Estate for Halloween. In 2024, this event raised over $3500 in 2 nights for our philanthropy, an overwhelming success for both our charity and community involvement.
